Taking a screenshot of a media player while playing a video

Does anyone know of a program or method I could use to take a screenshot of a media player (not specifically WMP, but it's not excluded) so that I can capture a frame of video? When I use the Prt Scr method it just returns a black screen.

Is there any way to get around this?

I apologize...I should've specified that I was also wanting to capture some shots from DVDs too. I use PowerDVD XP if that's of any help.

I must say that Irfanview is an excellent app, though. It's a definite keeper.

 

PowerDVD should be able to take screenies of DVD...

 

I get the same problem... paste a printscreen into photoshop and you can see the video thru the black blob where the video is sposed to be... WEIRD!!

Ill try one of these out when i get the chance... its been somthing ive wanted to do for ages

 

Hmmm....

It could depend on the version. I'm currently running version 4.0.

 

Turn off hardware accel and thin take a screen shot like normal.
