Tapes and LP's

Could someone help me with finding software to copy tapes and LP's onto my PC so I can save them there? Are there programmes that will take out the hiss and pops from the records too?

Cool Edit, formerly from Syntrillium, I think now from Adobe.

Also, Sound Forge is great for that.

Both are kinda high-end, but if you do other pro audio stuff like I do, well worth the money.

to connect the soundcard to the stereo, WATCH THE VOLUME LEVELS, then as stated Cool Edit is the best recorder to edit out noise.
