There is so much spying equipment the average Joe can buy anyway that can hear from one house to another without any wiring.
If you want something kept secret, keep it to yourself only.

When I first got a cell I was working for the city here and had the same thing happen to me only no one spoke just I could here my conversations with certain people I spoke to while working at city hall out side.The next time I received a call on my house phone of a recording of my families conversation. It quit when I informed the city officials that I was aware of what they were doing and they would here from my lawyers if I heard my own phone conversations again. Of course they denied any involvement but yet I never received another call since.:confused

from my limited search and what not, I am kind of surprised. None of the software either works or is available for brew style phones. only symbian and blackberry phones.

nokia phones are symbian for instance.
