How can I permanatly remove programes in the Processes area of Task Manager?

Thank you for the help. One, from Symantec, LUCOMS~EXC, for Live Update, and its friends. But, that is not the question. I wish to know the best free program to use to permanently remove unwanted programs from the Processes section of Microsoft Task Manager.

Have you heard of msconfig? Go to http://http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_xp.html scroll down and select your operating system and then follow the instructions. Here is another site you should use along with the above one http://http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php you type in the applications on that site and it will tell you what they are, and weather you should keep or get rid.

Hope this helps, but i do recommend you leave it alone if you are not sure what you are doing!

Edit: for some reason i dont think the first link is working. Type in "msconfig" in google and click on the first link. Follow the instructions, again only if you are sure you are up to it. It's not that tricky, but you could end up disabling apps you need.
