Task Manager - Processes xp

Hi i have used ur forums alot and have come up with yet another problem i have,i have xp home edition sp3,3.06 gb hz,1.43 gb ram
c drive 39 gb free,d drive 66 gb free
my pc is so slow i have run ur tests and not seen anything,i am asumming its the processes that messing up any help again would be gratful thx.

What's the make and model # of your machine? Does the machine run quicker while in Safe Mode?

Also, please download and run Free PC Audit, a stand-alone system information tool.

(If you get a Security Warning, don't worry about it - uncheck the 'Always ask before opening this file' box, and click 'Run').

When the scan completes, click File > Save As, name the file 'Report', and save to an easily found location, such as your Desktop.

Then attach that file to your next post per these instructions: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post.

 

Thanks for the reply but i had a think about it last night and im going to go through the malware procedure 1st just to make sure then if ok i will be back here,again thanks for the reply.

Ok i ran the malware procedure and i was suprised to find a couple of probs on there,but went thru and finished but my pc is still slow so i come back here thx for taking the time to help me.

 

Your report is showing no antivirus software, at least none that I could find. It may still be prudent to go through the Read & Run Me First thread and attach the requested logs to a new thread in the Malware Forum - let the guys there pass your machine as clean, just to be safe.

If I'm mistaken about the antivirus, pardon me - but if not, you really need to get some protection. There are many good, free a/v programs.

Nothing really stands out as far as your processes and startups, other than a few minor things. Again - does the machine speed up noticeably in Safe Mode? If so, you might try checking all of your device drivers, make sure they're all current.

 

Ok thanks again for the reply,i have microsoft security essentials for my av,u ask do i start up quicker in safe mode ,sorry about this but im a bit of a newb but how do i do that??(hangs head in shame)

 

Tap F8 repeatedly while powering up will allow you to choose safe mode .

 

Got it thanks and the answer was no,i will go to the malware forum and see if im clean thanks for your help.

 

no boot up is good
browsing and surfing is very slow
downloading,dont download so cant say
running applications is ok not to bad but not great
yes running slow in safe mode as well
task manager only system idle process is showing 99 all others 1 or 0
just on a sidenote i cannot whatsoever download flash player adobe thats why i came here as well in the 1st place,well that and my so slow pc hope that helps,and cause my headache to go lol,thanks again.
