When I hit Ctl-Alt-Del to bring up Win2K security window then click the Task Manager it fails to show on the monitor. Instead Windows Task manager minimizes to the task bar. Hitting restore does nothing. It's like the system thinks it's being displayed, but it's not. Can anyone give me a clue how to start troubleshooting this problem?

    Many thanks.

Kodo: Tried it and it put the windows task manager on the task bar. Hitting restore did nothing. Can only close the program. Any other clues??

Kodo: No. The box comes up with the choice but it doesn't show on the screen. ????

well, it's got show in the system tray. If you right click on the system tray task manager icon, you should have the option for it to stay on top.. click that if it's not checked and report ..
