A few days ago my pc started acting up. When I run a program like say Adobe Photoshop it works fine then I'll go to hit save for web or something and it freezes the program. So it gives me the option to end now and I do then when i restart is says taskmanger is not respinding and i have to end the also. Then recenetly it did the same thing except it said run32.dll wasnt responding. It's very frutrating. After I restart my computer sometimes it will do it again sometimes not. Then eventualyl after awhile it does it again.

I have no idea where to even start with what the problem might be. I haven't added any new software or hardware so I don't know.

My pc is a Hewlett-Packard Amd Athlon 2400 with 480mb of ram running xp 2002 service pack 1.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The first thing to do is rule out Spyware or Trojans.

Go to the Spyware Forum and follow the recommendations posted in the "sticky".

Don't you think that sort of information should have been included originally and would have been helpful?

    Anyway, goodbye and good luck.

We're here to help -I think Insomniac was just pointing out that you would be better helped by posting certain information, like: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/announcement.php?f=21.
-if you read through that and follow the suggestions then I'm sure someone could help you.
    -looking forward to more info.,

This is a sign of virus/spyware your sfs could be corrupt.
This will check your system files:
    startr>run>sfc /scannow
    insert xp cd if needed.
The best way is to make an integrated cd with SP1 so you will not have trouble finding sp1 files.Download autostreamer the sister of autopatcher. This will do it automaticaly for you.

I tried running that and nothing opened.

I was advised to install sp2 so I did.

Is there a diffrent command for runiing with that.

Also I dont have an XP cd If i ever need to reinstall windows I have a total system restore I don't know if that's just how HP sets their systems I don't know.

    Let me know.

sorry I was able to run the scan I was taking the space out ha.

The scan finished and nothing so I'm assuming everything is alright.

Also while I have a post ha I have since the day I bought my pc had spontaneous restarts. It used to do it when I would resize msn then it started doing it when i would click something now it seems to do it just on its on like say if windows media player is running. Everyone says I need more ram but even with adobe illustrator and photoshop running I have lots of mem left and I have 480mbs.

    Damn computers.
