taskmgr.exe

when I hit ctrl+alt+delete and look under processes taskmgr.exe will be using around 3-4 on computer then all the sudden it jumps to mid 80"s I can hit any key on the key board and it instanly drops back down to 3-4. When its doing this the busy light does not come on and you cant hear the cpu running but mouse is blinking until I hit any key then it stops blinkingto. I ran all the adware and stuff like it says in the read first tread on here and they all came up with nothing. it seems to do this alot with nothing started up justlooking at sesk top. please help as always thank you for your help.

I truly hope you can't hear the CPU running. It's just a chip if it made noise it would be a bad sign The only time 'taskmgr.exe' is running is when you hit CTRL+ALT+DEL. Hitting those three keys launches the task manager. It is abbreviated as taskmgr.exe when listed as a running process. What you report is normal. I have no idea what the blinking mouse thing is all about.... but just sitting there staring at your running processes and worrying about 'em is pointless. If you have run all the malware checks, and the PC seems to be running fine, then what's the problem? The only thing I recommend is to at least double your memory from 256mb to a minimum of 512mb, preferably 1gb. Memory is at an all time low (DDR2 is; DDR is still a bit spendy) and upgrading is cheap. What about general maintenance? Read this and follow the steps.

I never us that 3 button combo to access Task Manager.
Right click in the task bar and click on Task Manager.
