tcpip max connection limit

os: win xp pro

ive had sp2 for a while now but after the last group of updates from microsoft i am unable to connect to starcraft and ut2k4 servers (only 2 ive tried). when i am unable to connect i check my system event log.

i did a search on the forums and discovered another thread about the limit here: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=29193

ive done everything i could find on the link provided by microsoft and it didnt work. i was wondering if the registry edits in the above majorgeeks thread would help this issue and if so how do i apply them. this just reminds me why i hate microsoft so much. thnx in advance for your help -kethoth

 

*update* tried lvllord's tcpip.sys patch to increase connection limit but it didnt help

 

*update* tried uswest sc server instead of useast and was able to connect....still cant connect to ut2k4 internet servers
