Basicaly I am starting this thread more for help / support along my year or so trip of being an apprentice of IT. I am sure it will throw up some dooseys for me haha :-D.

Sorry Teh -crunch i should have been a little more specific with my last post.
It was aimed at mcadam and his weird sense of humor which you will come to appreciate as time goes by.

So first question... One of the modules I have chosen to do first is bespoke software. Any ideas on how I can create some, is there a certain programme I could use that would cover me to a silly above immense standard? Of course I'd like to get 100% in it because most of it consists of coursework / showing competence, which I clearly have loads of rolleyes haha.
Any ideas / suggestions are welcome as always, I like to see myself as open minded :-D

Well, generally, if you don't know how to write software, don't lie and say you do. It equals instant fail. There are a number of programs which offer the basic platform on which to build your software, but if the mechanics of writing it makes your eyes cross and causes excessive drooling, then maybe software engineering isn't your thing. Any idiot can be a tech (hi guys!!! ) But it takes someone with two brain cells to rub together and make heat to write the programs. Well, and then theirs Kodo, but freak natural accidents DO happen. They make the programs that said any idiots use to fake like they know what they're doing. I don't even pretend to know how to write software and I'm too damn lazy to learn. But my live in man slave uses excell and access to write nifty little programs that do all his work for him so he can listen to podcasts all day at work.

Of course I will attempt to learn how to write the stuff, I was talking to my line manager about it and he said pretty much the same as you did infact it wasn't as amusing as yours though he just said "Not everyone can write software" pretty bland but straight to the point. I shall put the most amount of effort in it (I tend not to be a quitter) but if it isn't looking good then I shall hang my ikkle typeing fingers up and just use them to post on here :-D. You have opend my eyes slightly more than a squint on the whole situation though, thank you muchly, tis very much appreciated. I will keep all informed as time goes on.

 

Ahh thanks for the Link, I will have a look at it on my lunch break when i have more time to mill it over in the thing that rests on my shoulders I call a head, with that Microscopic thing in there i use to think of ideas

I only got a little chance to have a mooch at that link Bill. I take it that is a Microsoft programme to help start / brush up on software writing techniques and the language needed to create somthing?

Unfortunatly there has been a major mess up in the company I am getting the qualification. Apparntly they do not support Technician apprenticeships which has baffled me beyond belif considering i actually told them face to face what it was my plans were. Anyway this has prosponed my learning plans until next Thursday, I shall sigh in their general direction and grit my teeth until they decide what they can support me with in terms of modules and academic study plans to get that bit of paper that says "Hey guys, this guy knows what he's doing!"
