My email client (Thunderbird) gets the following message upon trying to send:
'Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP mail server <mail.MyISP.com> failed. Please verify that your SMTP server setting is correct and try again.' My ISP tech support went over my settings an said they are correct. He then had me try to do a Run: 'cmd' and 'telnet mail.MyISP.com 25' from the DOS prompt which gave me this message: ' 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.' He then further blamed the problem on the ZoneAlarm firewall. However, after rebooting and starting the ISP connection without the firewall, the problem persisted. Any hints here? Maby on restoring or enabling telnet?

    Thanks, John

Thanks for replying. I finally tracked down telnet.exe and started from there. It worked that way.
