Worried about deleting files with .temp and .tmp extentions.
Can someone pls advise if is safe to delete these files. Would hate to know that I delete all files with these extentions and then run into problems.

    Thanks for your professional advice

I would never suggest manually deleting anything. Use a safe, 3rd party program. Windows has some basic cleaners included, but CCleaner has been downloaded millions of times and I personally have used it it on dozens of machines without a problem. It also scans for invalid registry entries:

    Suggestions:

Open program after install, under cleaner uncheck last download location. Click run cleaner.

Go to issues, scan for issues, then fix all. Backup if you like. I never have.

    Run Windows defragmentation.

Tks for your advice which found very helpful. CCleaner now being used. Also downloaded Auslogics Disk Defrag which is much faster than Windows Defrag and more informative. Able to see progress in motion.
