    Hey guys

    Can anyone please help me?

I want a decent reliable program that will monitor my system temps

I have searched these and other forums and the names that keep getting mentioned are

    Motherboard Monitor & Speed Fan

I have installed both of these but I am a little confused - how do I know which temps are which?

MM won’t report anything until I tell it what sensors to use - it gives me loads of choices but I don’t know which sensor is which

Speedfan gives me 4 temps - one of which is labelled as my HDD

Thing is I have three other temps I don’t know what they are - one of them is even -10!!!! (Which can’t be right can it?)

I really want to monitor my CPU GPU and North Bridge

Can anyone help me or tell me how I can identify the names of the temp sensors on my Board

It is a Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Quad Royal Nforce 4 SLI x16

    Thanks guys

Thanks ASUS - that was the answer I needed

I already had Everest installed but the sensor bit didn’t work - didn’t realise you had to double click it LOL

One thing though - see on the attached - any idea what the AUX is?

I also have no North Bridge figure - I assume that is because I don’t have the correct sensor

    Any ideas?

I'd suggest using several utilities at least at first just to figure out what may or may not be correct
Keep in mind your reading for temp/rpm or voltage are only as good as the sensors

I use two Utilities & BIOS on most every pc I get my hands on

I'll check BIOS first IMO probably the best base line at least to start with
(Some Asus mobo BIOS readings or even Asus probe have been to know to be of by 10 degrees or so:eek: Nature of the Beast I guess)

Then my favorite is Everest free ( free casue I love free stuff because thats works great) besides providing Generally reasonably accurate temps it can provides a butt load of other great info including memory bench marking.

    I also love MBM5
I like it because I can modify & configure it all sort's of ways, including having it show temps in my system tray

Usually between the three I can identify unknown stuff like The Dons AUX

Here's Screenie of MBM5, the dashboard on screen & in the system Tray

    Here's some MBM5 links sensors/supported MOBO
    I didn't see The dons
My Asus A8N sli prem isn't on it either I just played with it till I got it to read what I wanted it too
During install/auto configuration I went with SK8N as it's similar & uses same sensors as mine

The Don I'm guess but might be these
    ITE8712F
    ITE8712F 1
    ITE8712F 3 diode
I don't usually recommend this but guess & experiment

Hey, The Don, what kind of cooling are ya running
I'm thinking in your screen of Everest CPU at 20c is probably wrong, Ive never had a cpu run that cool

I dont know what the Aux is

Just so you & others know my pic's / screenies are from two completely different PCs

SpeedFan, period. I only set it up to show the cpu temp in its icon in the lower-right corner. When the mouse moves over it, it show the rest. BTW, i have a gb k8nsli mobo.

It's easy to find the accurate cpu/chipset temps: reboot to bios, note the temps, boot into xp, compare the temps to those in your app.
