Temporary 10sec Freezing Due To Atapi & CdRom

Hello,

Last night I tried to play a DvD on my DvD rom but the DvD was corrupted and it didnt run so I ejected it but after that my computer started to freeze every minute for about 10 seconds so I went into the even log and found out that the atapi and cdrom are not responding and if I try to eject the dvdrom it doesnt eject either. I have since then uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the atapi and cdrom but to no avail my computer freezes for 10sec every min event now I really need help. Below is a screen shot of the two problems from my even log.

P.S There is no error in the applications so I think that this might be strictly hardware related....any ideas?

hey that evenid is pretty helpfull I figured how to use it anyhow right now I am watching a DvD on the DvDrom drive thinking that maybe using it may not bring the error so far its going good.

as strange the problem was even more strange was the fix, in my post above where I mentioned that I am playing a anoter DvD in the player well after that it gave me no trouble hours went by and nothing.
