Testing Freeware?

Hi, I'm Breezy the mother of 3 children who have tons of friends, they all love to gather around our family computer.

I've been looking around your forums for some freeware that would be helpful in restricting inappropriate websites or content on otherwise okay sites; like you tube.. Not really finding anything particularly useful for that.

My questions are, if I find something that looks like what I need is there someone here willing to give it a look and tell me if it's "good"? I did try a free one several years ago and managed to wreck my computer.

Also, the kids have their own accounts, my son is 13 and will be given more freedom. My girls are 10 and 8, they share a account. If I find something can I have different settings on the different accounts (while leaving the adult accounts out of it completely)?

Whatever insight you can give me I'd really appreciate it, TIA.

It is a BlueCoat product, we use the corp version to *edit* the net, and as yet I haven't found a way aroud it :-D

I'll throw the OpenDNS Family Shield into the mix too, no software to install, all the work is done before it reaches your PCs.
