Thank god i'm simple.

Recently i had to go out and find a PCI Express graphics card for a computer i'm putting together. Over and over again i tried to find a high end graphics card that didn't foul the next slot, or blow the heat onto the ADSL modem in the slot after that. I never did find one, and it blows hot air into the gap between the two, causing a hot spot. I did a bit of case modding and put in an exhaust fan to suck the hot air out, and it works well. Now, if the main case exhaust fan is at the top, and the PCI express fan is next to it, why do they build the graphics card with the fan pointing in the wrong direction?

Boy am i glad i'm simple.

 

It is not wrong direction, because they do not want their VGAcards have been died in warranty time by dirty. like your HD position, Why they do not put HD board up.

I thought about that, but I think it has to do with the case design built in the 1990's, since all standard ATX cases and mobo's are built with the specs reccommended in those years, there isnt much room to place new integrated systems.

 

Not much to see. It's jeantech ezcool case. I chose it because it's covered from head to toe in vent holes, and that means i can pop a fan in just about anywhere. It's also covered all over inside with a dust filter, and never gets more than a few degrees above ambient temperature. I bought a car oil cooler because i was thinking of really going wacky with a little water cooling, i don't need it, i just want a wacky computer. When it's finished i'll pop up a photo or two. Because of the clever design of the feet it's getting wheels, but finding the right type is difecult when you have no idea what you want. Don't laugh, i was thinking of small car wheels, like on a go kart. It's going to be wacky, but functional. I just installed four zoneless dvd players just because it takes them, they play a fart wav every time they open.

Cooling water is verry good for your CPU, VGAcard, what about the other like Chips, theys are not so easy to do like that. Covered dust filters, they make airflow is weaker, so it will be hotter inside PC case.
