That darn Norton

I am unable to uninstall Norton Internet Security 2006. I tried to install it on a computer, and the installation froze. I attempted to uninstall, so I could then reinstall, with no success. I'm still stuck at the uninstall point.

Add/Remove Programs doesn't work.
The Norton Removal Tool doesn't work.
The Manual Norton Removal Tool doesn't work.
and surprise . . . the Norton Live Chat Representatives in India DON'T WORK! All they do is send me an E-mail telling me to do those three things that I've already told them don't work!!!!!! (I'm a little frustrated)

I have downloaded the tool from both Norton's site and Major Geeks to both the hard drive and a flash drive in a desperate attempt to try it just about any way I could think.

I go through all of the steps and it says it can't remove it, so I'm stuck. Ack! Any ideas for me, other than a System Restore?

 

Maybe you have allready done this but have you restarted the pc since all these attempts?. ed

 

Suggest you try Regseeker from MG at http://www.majorgeeks.com/RegSeeker_d2579.html , Please note that backup option Must be checked, also just delete "GREEN" items to begin with. Then use CCleaner avalaible at MG then the Norton Eliminate tool from MG, should do the trick. Hope that helps

I am clueless on how to use Reg Seeker. Sorry, I tried, but don't know what to do with it.

 

I searched other posts on people that had trouble uninstalling things. Thanks to Bold Eagle, as listed above from another post, I used Your Uninstaller! 2006 and it worked wonderfully!

You could try system restore and go back to just before you installed norton and delete the norton folder from window's program folder then try to reinstall norton.
