Hi, I am not even sure if this is the right place to be posting my question. Yes, I am that computer dumb :)

A little while ago, I let my (now ex) boyfriend "clean" up my computer, he said there were too many things running in the background, too many unneeded programs on my computer. But since then, every time I right click on a folder I get the message "the base UI directory is invalid." After I click the box a couple of times, everything works fine. It's really annoying though.

    Help! :)

    Hi

Its possible that a link has been deleted and its registry link is still active, with this error it can link to any application so finding the cause can be tricky or take a long time, but try this in using a registry cleaner and CCleaner is a fairly safe one and run its registry cleaner option, do run it a few times until nothing is showing in the scan window.

Also tell us what Windows version your using?
