Incredible find. Do you know the story of this "barnfind"?
    Who owned the cars?
    What happened to them?
    How long ago was this?

    Bazza.

1968 Ford LTD, I don't know what possessed me ATT, late 70's. The thing was huge. At 6' I could almost stretch out completely on the bench. The other was a Cougar 390, about the same time. Wrecked it in three days on a wet/curvy leaf laden road. Man, that back end was loose, plus it was too much car for me. Luckily that no one was hurt except for the rock that ripped out my oil pan+.

My very first car was a '66 Chevelle Malibu . . . but not as cool as it sounds. It was a 4-door 6-popper, but I loved that car. It never failed me, and I drove the crap outta it. They built 'em in those days!

It got wrecked (somebody pulled out in front of me) and it bent the frame. I got it straightened, but it was never the same after that. Then I got rear-ended at a stoplight - that spelled the end for Daphne (yeah, I named it. So what!), who at that point was 5 different colors - I found chicks didn't much dig that. Go figure! confused lol

I gave it to a friend of my dads to use as a "fishing car" - he had a huge tract of property, and just drove it there. Several years after that he told me it finally gave up the ghost. He tore that straight six down, and said the pistons were so worn they rattled in the cylinders - but it still ran. What killed it was the frame busted. I payed 200 dollars for that car - I'd pay a a couple thousand for it now, if in the same condition as when I first got it. Helluva car.

then hopefully all cars will turn into this

    runs by air

    http://media.popularmechanics.com/images/air-car-0607.jpg

India’s largest automaker is set to start producing the world’s first commercial air-powered vehicle. The Air Car, developed by ex-Formula One engineer Guy Nègre for Luxembourg-based MDI, uses compressed air, as opposed to the gas-and-oxygen explosions of internal-combustion models, to push its engine’s pistons. Some 6000 zero-emissions Air Cars are scheduled to hit Indian streets in August of 2008.

Barring any last-minute design changes on the way to production, the Air Car should be surprisingly practical. The $12,700 CityCAT, one of a handful of planned Air Car models, can hit 68 mph and has a range of 125 miles. It will take only a few minutes for the CityCAT to refuel at gas stations equipped with custom air compressor units; MDI says it should cost around $2 to fill the car’s carbon-fiber tanks with 340 liters of air at 4350 psi. Drivers also will be able to plug into the electrical grid and use the car’s built-in compressor to refill the tanks in about 4 hours.

Of course, the Air Car will likely never hit American shores, especially considering its all-glue construction. But that doesn’t mean the major automakers can write it off as a bizarre Indian experiment — MDI has signed deals to bring its design to 12 more countries, including Germany, Israel and South Africa.
