   "insert a writable disc in to continue"
   even thogh theres a cd in there already.it keeps saying that i even tryed differnt companys of cds.
   
   im running win xp sp1,and the drive letter is E:// my burner.

   already tryed rebootin,and there aint no yellow exclamtion marks beside it.it works fine with cd software like nero.

   As STAR said the XP burner soft gets buggy sometimes and also doesnt like working in conjunction with other burner soft installed.... just disable it in SERVICES its under IMAPI CD Burning Service and use NERO it is vastly superior and has more functionality.
   
   
   also if you want to use XPs built in CD burning do you have this update installed as it may cure some issues.
