    Hi Everyone,
I have been trying out some linux distros lately and like a lot of other people I am so glad to know that alternatives to windows are available. I have an old PC in the closet with win98 on it, I am going to wipe the hard drive and install Ubuntu or Suse on it. I look forward to learning more about linux.
I started this thread because I wanted to share some info with anyone who may be interested in learning more about linux. I found an online book in .pdf format at Suseblog.com, it is titled “The Easiest Linux Guide You’ll Ever Read - an introduction to Linux for Windows users” - a book by Scott Morris
It can be found here >>( http://www.suseblog.com/?p=141 ) When you get on that page just scroll down till you see a heading called - How do I get the book? The link is in the first sentence and the download size is 5.52 mb. I wasn't sure whether or not I should start this thread but I hope it can be helpful to others like me who are learning about linux and maybe this thread can serve as a platform for other helpful resources for linux newbies. By the way, I'm glad to see this linux forum here at majorgeeks. Thanks for your awesome website! - Rayzur :)

Thanks for the tip on "The Easiest Linux Guide You'll Ever Read"...I just downloaded it. I think they wrote this for people like me...looks great!

BTW...Like you I have an old Win98 Laptop that hasn't been started in more than a year. Because it's only a 190 RAM and 650 mhz (Fedora didn't work well and I didn't care for DSL), but MepisLite makes that old laptop run better than new. I am really impressed with the speed and the applications that loaded with it. Check that one out.
In the meantime, I hope this forum will start attracting some new users!

Personally I'm allergic to SuSE. YaST brings me out in a rash.

Looks to be a reasonabley guide, though.
