You have award shows for almost everything these days. Maybe it's time for Major Geeks to start its own: "The Geekies"

Please post your ideas and nominations for the best of 2012. I'll start off with a few...

Most Interesting App: Apple Maps. Sadly the staff at Apple won't be on hand to accept it since they're currently lost in the Outback of Australia.

Best Geek Actor: John McAfee. His performance is like The Amazing Race meets OJ Simpson.

Best Geek Actress: Grace Park. Her ability to flawlessly navigate Windows 8 on a matrix of big screens in Hawaii Five-0 screams both "sexy" and "geek" in one sentence.

Best Special Effects: Company of Autonomy, who somehow convinced HP their company was worth $5 billion more than it was. The Dark Knight Rise's has nothing on those effects.

Best TV Series Featuring Hackers: Person of Interest. One of the recurring villians is named "root" and they didn't explain it for us! (You either knew or didn't)
