The intergration and essential destruction of Windows.

I'm many of us would love to see windows go out... the window. I'm sure many do not, but we don't care about you.

Now I will admit my idea is.. Flawed to say the least and sadly I would not be the one (atleast not yet) to implament this idea. And no doubt there would be legal issues...

But I'm sure we can atleast discuss it.

As we know and for us windows users we would love to make a switch to linux. the only problem is that with linux many of the program that we love on windows does not work with linux. This is the case for games. The only reason I do not switch is because of the game availability. I know there is such a thing called emulators. But the problem is that these to not run them 100% and most certainly with the new games wine or other emulators (or enviroment "Wine Is Not an Emulator") they need tweaks before being able to run them. Well.

Now obviously I can see some eye rolls thinking "Oh god one of these guys."

But I do know that there is certain dpendancies that windows has as well as coding in windows that gaming developers and other program developers seem to depend upon IN WINDOWS just to function.

Now I think it's possible however requires a lot of work. and windows hacking skills in order to get that code and quite litteraly implament it into linux. say ubuntu for starts as a simple third party exacutable.

NOw I know the flaws in this. For one Windows is Monolithic in design. and getting it to work in such a way to work seamlessly with games or other apps would prove a problem as well might require tweaking without completely changing the code. For two its accessing core linux files without damaging them and trusting the maker not to damage said files.

NOw I understand that there are obviously much more and I can expect it to be snubbed off. also such a thing WOULD be illigal.


I'm just curious and ready to start conversation and want to see if people think it would be impossible without creating an entirely new OS.

so what are you proposing, in plain english? you want to hack the windows code and implement some of it into linux so that games work?
