hmmm there's some quite interesting differences there, being a christian i'm unsure of some of them, particularly "man being born into sin" - what's that about??????

Meaning that when Adam and Eve made their choice in the garden, the consequences (separation from God without some kind of atonement) is passed on to us from birth (us being their great, great, great, great, great, etc. grandchildren :) ). Hence our need for Salvation through Jesus' death on the cross. Before Jesus, the Jews had to do animal sacrifices to atone for their sins.

I've found it to be true. One of my children's first actions when they became mobile was to try to get to something that they weren't supposed to have. I told them "No!" and soon I saw them reaching for it again, and looking back at me with that "what-are-you-going-to-do-about-it" look. Not major sin or anything, but clear rebellion from what they've been told. We always have that tendency to want to do what we know we're not supposed to, that's original sin.

Are you familiar with the concept original sin?

Its ingrained with Christianity and the bible.

Just goes to show you, man (as a race) is inherently evil. ;)

I truly believe that. Its only our beliefs, and upbringing that determines what direction we take (supress our nature, or embrace it).

yes, i've been following christianity since i was "yay-high" as one might say. thanks for the explanation, there's a lot i don't understand.
also, if you're interested in man and evil then i would like to recommend lord of the flies to you, if you haven't already read it. i'm currently studying it for gcse and it's all about man and how there's inner evil inside everyone but cleverly interwinned with a "beast".

oh, this guy is brilliant, he states that Roman Catholicism is a cult ..

this site isnt bad.... fairly biased, but its not as judgemental, nor as biased, as many other sources.

    jarcher I can't handle a title

original sin is fine by me, I can live with that
its the sin we have to make up thats terrible

I do not claim to a Christian nor to I claim not to be

    it is an interesting site

The Bible has the old and the new testiment
the Koran i am not to certain
yet "we" all kind find redemption

the term "cult" is a "Christian" term
and in there beliefs it is correct

Very good link. Lots of great reading.

If this were in the Links forum, I would have given it a five star rating. :)
