The latest on our Army friend Isaac

I know that a lot of you have followed what's up with Eric's and my friend Isaac who is a sniper in the Army's 82nd Airborne. He was in Afghanistan and Iraq over the last couple of years, and we just got news that he was deployed today. Not sure if I'm allowed to say where, but I'll let you know when I'm sure it's ok to post.

I figured that he'd be going back at some point, but didn't realize that it was going to be this soon. We haven't seen him since he had gotten back from Afghanistan. Haven't seen him since he got back from Iraq. I think it's been over a year. His Mom also let us know that he just got engaged to a girl who is also in the Army. For those of you who pray, pray for his safety.

Have been, will continue. Your periodic updates are good reminders, plus he's become something of an adopted friend thanks to you. Engaged!

Actually, the press probably requested his return... they miss having him in front of the cameras.

Let us know where, when you're able. I assume he wasnt' posted somewhere safe like Hawaii.

Isaac has turned into quite a warrior, from the "kid" you used to no, hasn't he?

Good idea GT! Here is one I never posted. It's the paper from Ft Bragg a couple of years ago.


He made it into Time Magazine last October when his picture was taken at a funeral. He had an uncanny way of getting in front of cameras when he was over there. I saw him online on different news sites at least twice. It actually became really comforting to me to see his face knowing that the pictures had been taken only days before.

 

Here's Isaac with us the last time he visited. Sure do miss him.
