    Wife's Win 10 got a real virus today, first we've ever had - that we knew about anyway. Your system files will be entirely erased in 240 secs - SCAN NOW etc etc. Well I'm not going to waste my time trying to eliminate virii and their effects. Macrium Reflect came to the rescue with a two month old image of W10.1803 and we had a clean system up and running in well under the hour. Phew!! But if we needed a reminder about the importance of frequent imaging ............... :eek:

    Yup. I sound like a broken record telling people to learn how to image. An image has saved me on every computer we've owned at one time or another. It takes so much less time to restore an image than to try and fix malware removal and bad patches.

    I used to find the culprit in appdata and then search thru files and the registry for the same name to remove all the traces. Since coming here and being constantly hearing backup-backup-backup and image-image-image I caught on and in 2 cases in the last 4 years, I just went to my last image. Even if not a recent image, it still is easier than all the hunting for pieces of the culprit. And I believe you were the one most pushing the b-b-b i-i-i concept. Thanks! And glad you recovered!

    I'm away on holiday ATM in India but heartened to see more being convinced that imaging is worth the effort.
