The Mrs. spilled coke on the keyboard

Keyboard and mouse not working.
What to do?
She used the canned air on the spill. I am tempted to wash keyboard in sink, dry thouroughly and try again. Anyone tried this?

Yep, in fact you could take the entire keyboard appart and wash the keys and board in the dishwasher! Just make sure you take out the pressure mat and controller board from the board first (the circuit board with the wire going into it). I'd also suggest putting the keys into a permeable bag of some sort (the kind you get with washing powder).

Mind out with the enter and space bar, though, when you're putting them back. I broke my last keyboard putting the enter key back on....

 

Alcohol bath

I took screws out of the back, but keyboard would not come apart. Its a M$ Natural Keyboard Pro. Rinsed it out with a quart of rubbing alcohol, dried it, plugged it in, and results are bad.

Time to buy a new one?

 

i have had many sodis on my keyboard and i took it apart and cleaned it and now that the keys stick realy bad i just ordered a new one

its not realy worth all the work and they still dont work the same [this one is 3 years old now anyway 4-5 drpeppers in it before lol]

a new one is like 15 -40 bucks its verys in price just depends on what you get and remember the best keyboard in the world is still going to hate sodi

 

keyboards go as high as 250$ now a days; M$ move over!

 

or just go to walmart get a key board for 9.95 and works great .
