The perfect settings for Tv and Computers

Hey, im trying to get the absolute best performance from my tv running from my computer i need the best looking picture possible and make it run smooth as a monitor if possible

Relevant info

Video card - 8800GTX
connection - DVI 2 HDMI
Tv - 32in LG 720p


I have not changed much settings yet. im looking for someone that knows exactly what to do ( im just using it for a movie player ) mby a monitor but not likely. right now with basic connection 1920 by 1080 (i dont think thats right size for it) its really slow and picture looks a bit shitty
