The Registry

Hi all.
I have been having loads of BSOD's lately. (See previous threads).
I've tried several things, new drivers, reg cleaning, malware searches etc etc.
I'm still getting them and i also have a scanner that starts at strange times, like when i open 'My Computer' or select a file to burn with Nero.
I also nearly always get a BSOD when i try to encode a avi file and burn it to a dvd.
I decided to try Nero using the guest account as i had a hunch about the registry, it got to the end of the process without a BSOD.
Can my registry be damaged in some way yet other accounts on the same computer be fine??

I would imagine so. I have had problems with system sounds after using certain programs, and creating a new account remedied the problem, on the new account. Then deleted the original account and its user folder. Just needed to take ownership of certain files/folders that were created under the original account.

I was going to take a stick of RAM out to try and eliminate that when i decided to take a look at the fans.
The graphics card fan was dead!!
I took the card out, pushed the plug home hard and the fan is now working again.
I take it this is very likely been my problem with BSOD's, a overheating graphics card??
