i recently installed the Sims delux edition and then installed the House party expansion. the expansion for house party failed so i tried to uninstall sims ans start over then it said i coudnt uninstall it so then i used add remove for good. and when i went to install the sims again it woudnt open the install sheild. then i removed all the entries for the sims in the regestry and now i still cant install or uninstall. when i try to install i get teh message " error getting sku number from regestry oboting installation." and yea ove compleatly screw it up so if it is possible to install it without formating please tell me

Just deleting the registry files is sometimes not enough. When this happens to me I first make sure that there are no left over folders that the Add/Remove missed and I delete them manualy, then I use a program that deletes useless files on the computer, after that I clean out the registry.

Doing it in that order allways works for me. I use a program call System Suite 4.0 to clean the registry and to wipe out all possible traces of programs and applications. It's not free but it's a good program.

You can download free programs that do the same thing on the this website.

Download a program from Major Geeks that deletes all useless files on your computer and then clean the registry again. I think that will enable you to install the Sims again.
