The Ultimate Boot CD-Help needed

I have downloaded the Ultimate Boot CD self Extraction .exe.

1-If I execute it, I get an .iso file.....What exactly should I do with this file ?

>ColeCD does not recognise it..
>Nero-5 cannot burn it, it sust convert it to a .ngr file ?

2-What is an image file, and what should I expect to see when it eventually is on the CD...What must I copy to the empty CD.

Please help, I have no clue as to what to do ..!

 

What is the difference between "Burn" and "Write to CD" in Nero-5 ?

 

Ok, I found a good explanation. Now I understand, but still cannot do it. Maybe the Nero I got is not capable of extracting/burning the files from the .iso image ?

Nero 5 does not have a 'burn ISO to disc' option? Try Deepburner, or CDBurner XP (if you have Win XP); they are available under 'Back Up' in the download section. Both are able to burn ISO images to disc.

In the Nero Burning Rom:

1. Click File >> Burn Image
2. Navigate to the ISO file and select it.
3. Set the options you want, and click Write.
   

 

OK, thanks guys, it worked like a charm.


The Nero had the ISO options, but just not able to do it.
I also relived my PC from Nero [Never used it actually]. With my last try this nero actually "Burned" the file to CD, but actually just copied it, so the CD went to rubbish bin also. Nero also uninstalled ugly, leaving lots of traces in registry behind, thanks to NortonSW it's fixed.

 

Did you do what I described, or did you create a new image (via the window that pops up when you start Nero or via File >> New) and drag the iso file to the window on the left?
