    Hi there,

I have the same problem, but with the difference that I can't see the files in the cmd window. "dir /x" seems to have the same function as the normal "dir". Anyway the folders, which can't be removed are not even displayed here. Because of that can't delete them. What can I do?

    Please help :(

    P.S.
There might be a connection with the system memory error "something". After ripping a radio stream with streamripper I didn't see any folders the next day. But then in the evening I had a bluescreen and the system rebooted. Then I had many folders, which I couldn't remove.

I could find the files in CMD under "c:\users\public\desktop", but I can't delete the files there either, because they are not to be found. It's very strange. They are listed, but they can't be removed. What should I try next?

    Thanks for your help,
    Isterio

Okay, now I did try to delite the XYZ~1 "names" .. I confirm, but the files are still there. At least is doesn't tell me that they are not to be found.

    Any more ideas?

Ah, I finally got it. With rmdir /s it really works! I always tried "del" ... well, I guess the problem is solved now.
