There are still kind people in the world

I'm tired of reading news stories of sad situations, hard times and evil people. So a friend of mine showed me this story and it really great to read a NICE story.

Secret Santas going into a Kmart and pay off strangers layway, how kind!! If I had the money this is something I would totally do. I do wonder, how they got the persons name? I wonder if they knew the person or just went in and said, I wanna pay of someones layaway? LOL

Such a break to read people doing nice things for other people instead of robbing, hurting or killing them! Kudos to these secret santas!

Ya Dya, it is rare even at this time of the year. This is the time that these stories surface. At least some corps care, like CNN's heroes!

 

It is always nice to "pay forward" at a toll booth or a drive-thru.

The story did not indicate the layaway was as generous.

 

This is HUGE news here! The Kmart in question is about 5 miles from my house, and it's practically all anyone can talk about. How it keeps working is simple...the first woman walked in and said she wanted to pay off strangers' layaways. Her only stipulation was that what she paid off included toys, because she wanted to take care of people with children. I think that's how the others have done it as well. One of the layaways paid off yesterday was for a woman with eight children. Most of what she'd had on layaway was winter clothing for the kids.

Makes me proud to come from here, it really does. :highfive

Talk about the gift of giving. I have not read the article yet, but from what you guys have said it sounds wonderful.

 

Good know that people still do good things just because it is good.
I have a friend who lives in home unit apartments. One day most of the apartments were broken into and had their stuff riped off, (only hers and one other got spared, 'prolly because they were home). The worst places got their T.V.'s, even refrigerators ripped off and the whole place trashed.
Well, I don't really know her neighbors, apart from saying "hello" occasionally. Anyway I personally replaced their T.V.'s and white goods so they can at least have a decent holiday season. I don't want credit, but just saying, glad I could help somewhat.
~ Still a little good left in the world, I guess.:cool

 

I don't feel this is quite the same.
But the computer work I do is for friends (mostly). I never charge them, I feel it's a learning experience for me and if I can help them then that's good too. I have told them I don't want paid and my friend's mother who I did alot of work on her laptop basically forced me to take cash for it.

 

Always good to see good Christmas stories. Now back to my Bah Humbug life in retail bidness during the damn holiday season. :-D
