Thermal compound

Hey,
I just got some parts for my new PC today and in the box with the motherboard, there was some silicone compound. Here's the the mobo.

It doesn't say what to do with it. I was thinking maybe it was for when I installed the cpu but the amd I installed already had a thermal compound on it.

So, is this stuff just extra thermal compound or is it for the little heatsink/fan that's on the board?

Any ideas would be welcomed and appreciated.
