Thermal Imaging Cameras To Be Rolled Out In Post-covid Australia

Not sure exactly how the technology spans out in this instance...it notes that it's a "...contactless way to monitor groups of people, with an alarm sounding when a personal temperature is elevated so a person who could be carrying the virus is detected."

A hospital spokesperson said on detection, "If they're simply a visitor we will turn them around and ask them to go and see their GP..." - so doesn't seem to impact privacy - but rather acting as an alert system.

 

There are many medical conditions associated with an elevated temperature - some life threatening, some not.
No software can (currently) determine the difference.
