The video of the beheading of the Korean guy is out on the net now.... I sure hope they catch those guys... even one still alive.... at least when the marines find him....

Yes the marines would love to get their hands on low life things like that

We could do so many crative things with them.

Unfortunately we have to abide by the freaking rules

The hell with the rules I say

Take the gloves off and give the Marines a chance to shine

    They released the ACTUAL video?

That is SO disrespectful. That is someones life there, it is something that should not be seen by anyone. That person has family out there. Do they want the video going around all over the world for people to see their family members death? I think not. I know I wouldn't. When the Nick Berg video was going around I was devastated. People were sending it around on the internet. I remember being really depressed about that. Its disrespectful to both the family, and the person who was killed.

I remember someone I know talking about why the video should be viewed.

The video proves nothing but a death.

And in my opinion should not be viewed.

I've seen both videos. Sick bastards. There is a long historical tradition of beheading in Arab countries. With a scimitar (sword), and one quick blow. This isn't beheading, it's butchery; slitting the throat and sawing the head off with a knife. We don't treat cattle that badly.

The sooner they're in hell, that happier I'll be.

We have our foolish youngsters doing the same thing to each other, just using different weapons, I don't want to see videos of that either, we know it's real, we know that terrorists wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing to us, I have absolutely no understanding of what is in their heads and watching a video of a brutal death will not help me to understand it. I am with Cano on this we don't have to see it to know what they wish for us.
Today in our local paper was a story of a young soldier who last night was gunned down outside his home at a going away party for him. 10 days ago it was a front page story about his coming home on leave after receiving a Purple Heart for injuries received when his helicoptor was shot down in Iraq. Last night he was in an argument with one of the party guests and he pulled a knife on him. The guest shot him several times and this 20 year old who was about to leave to do his Army Ranger training died. Tragedy and foolishness, I wish our young people would stop killing each other. I am sorry , this story disturbed me so much, because it is here.

This is true. And while I once opposed this whole campaign, I have to admit that, with each day, I become more and more angered and tend to feel the same way endiablado does. Through this outrageous event, one positive thing has developed. Korean civilians are now so angered at this atrocity (as can be expected) that the majority of the populace is in full support of sending the proposed 3000 troops to Iraq. Prior to this, the majority of the civilians were completely against it. Though relations with South Korea have been rocky, perhaps we can become stronger allies through defeating a common enemy.

Picture this being done in the USA. Whoever attempted it would not survive the event because we, the people, would not tolerate it. The population over there seems to care little and do less about the terrorists, which implies consent in my book. Nuke em'. Carpet bomb. Take them all out. Let Allah sort them out. Diplomacy only goes so far, then you gotta bust the bastard in the nose. Even as tough as it is over there, we have shown those people respect. I think it's time for no more Mr. Niceguy...

[] What has happened to the days when we first threatened to be not so nice and then followed through with what we said we were going to do?!?! When we told Japan that we were going to level thier cities, did we not do exactly that? Nowadays, we seem to have developed some kind of sick doctrine that states that we will threaten you constantly, but take little to no action to back it up. When will the rest of the world wake up and see that if the USA decides to drop the mission against terror, that the terrorists will have free reign in any and all countries? I am sad to see that this man has lost his life just for being anything but Islamic. On the other hand, I am happy that he has singlehandedly help spark a outcry against the morons who do this. It's just a matter of time before the everyone wakes up and realizes that the next beheadding victim could be themselves. Perhaps our leaders (worldwide) need to knock the lace off their panties and get back to reality.

Who here has studied the Quaran? Anyone? I have not, but I have met those who know not only that book, but the Bible as well. A preacher that knows both taught a lesson on both one night in my church. He stood up in the face of a well known Islamic cleric and asked him why the Quaran contradicts itself. The cleric had no answer to give. (I believe that he had asked "How are the Islamic beliefs were to be kept alive?" The response was: "By converting those that are not of the faith, to the faith." The second question to the cleric was "But doesn't the Quaran say to shun or kill those who are not of the faith becasue they are infidels?") Now I know for a fact that I can twist the words of the Bible to make them suit what I need, but that does not grant me any liberty to kill in the name of my God no matter how much I twist it.

I personally think that we should pull our troops out en masse and lay down the biggest bombing campaign known to man starting with all the "Holy sites" and known terrorist hideouts. If you are a civilian in Iraq and happen to be at either of these places, it most likely is just a matter of time before you decide to join the ranks of the scum that are sharing space with you. In that case, you too will be wiped from the face of the earth. If you decide to not join these fools, then stand up to them and stop the cycle. Kill or be killed. Stop taking up for people who would just as soon kill you for not blowing yourself up. Stop letting your fellow countrymen strap bombs to themselves so they can inflict chaos on innocents. Stop listening to the doctorine of hate against all but those like yourself.

These words come from a Christian man. I would rather see you practice what my God said than to see you all killed. Don't let anyone tell you that the God that I serve wants you dead. He wants you alive, whole, and will love you no matter what. Kill those that don't believe? Not for my God. Are you going to screw it up? Most likely. I know that I have. But saved by the grace has kept me coming back. I have never received condemnation from my God, nor will I. Martyr yourself to prove your worthiness to allah? Nah. Be yourself, study to show yourself approved to my God. He simply asks that you not deny Him.

I'd say sorry about the preaching, but I'd be lying to all of you. I'm absolutely ill from hearing about people being beheaded over a religion. If your God asks you to shed blood for him, there is something amiss. There's enough hate in this world as it is. Why add more? [/end  (for now)]

Here are some videos to remind you all as to why I will never forget. And why we need to keep in mind that forgetting and ignoring will be our demise.

We shall and will take care of the problem even though some nations are not with us on this. It does not matter. We shall overcome and win.

Will you ever forget what you were doing when you heard the news? Are you willing to forget reality in exchange for peace of mind?

It is horrible, it is inhumane, but to forget is to pretend that everything is allright and that the world is singing cumbayaya while joined at the hands.

What were you doing when you first heard the news????

Me nothing especial really just getting ready to go to work. I usually watch the news (FOX) when I glanced over and saw the first plane hit. I was in complete disbelief. I had to stop everything and watch it again to grasp what just hapenned. At first I thought what a horrible accident. and then as I sat there. I saw the second one hit. then it downed on me. this is no accident what the hell is going on???

    What was going on was
the war had started, America had been hit, we had been slapped, it was time for revenge.

Well, the latest beheading didn't have its intended results. Intent was to keep S. Korea from sending troops to Iraq. Before the beheading, popular opinion favored NOT sending them. After the beheading, public opinion is strongly in favor of sending them. S. Korea is a small country, with a real threat on their own border, and they're sending help because they realize the seriousness of the threat.

I love our country, but we've got a terribly short attention span. Before 9/11 there were quite a few attrocities committed against us, mostly overseas, which made the news for a day or 2 then were totally forgotten. 9/11 was bigger, and got more air play, but two years later most of us have mostly forgotten the resolve that we all talked about back then. And our commercial media softpedals everything and avoids any harsh words. Suicide bombers instead of murder bombers, which is more accurate. Insurgents instead of terrorists. They talk about our troops killing x number of "civilians", when every terrorist is a civilian, which is VERY misleading; makes us sound like we're only killing innocent people, which is NOT the case. Talking about Islam as a "religion of peace", which totally ignores and lies about their entire history. Yes, there are peaceful Muslims in the world. But as a movement, their history is one of violence, aggression, oppression, from their inception to last night's news. Study what's going on in Sudan right now, and for the last few years and tell me how peaceful they are. You'll have to go LOOK for that though, as it won't be found on the evening news or in your newspapers.

Beheading is far to kind a word for what's being done, and unless you've either seen it yourself, or had it described ACCURATELY, which hasn't happened ONCE in the news that I've seen, you don't really understand it, and you don't have an honest understanding of either what's going on, or who and what it is that we've committed to fight.

There are two wars going on. One is in the field. Right now that's Afghanistan and Iraq, with minor help in a few other countries. That will change over the years, as old areas are either won or abandoned, and fighting picks up in other areas. This is a global threat, not just in the "blood for oil" (what a lie!) countries. The threat is huge, and broad, and as Bush honestly stated after 9/11, will take many years.

The second war is the one right here at home, for the heart, soul, and resolve of our people. Viet Nam was won in the field. Historians on BOTH sides admit that if we'd been united and determined, Hanoi would have fallen. We never, ever, lost even one major battle. The much touted Tet Offensive was a disastrous failure for the commies, but was presented by our press as a major defeat for our troops. Our will was undermined right here at home from a combination of communist propaganda from outside, and from a willing media and "useful idiots" (as Stalin called them) right here that worked with them to undermine our efforts. Same thing is happening now, only the stakes are much higher.

It's vitally important that all the truth, ugly and unvarnished, gets to the people. They won't get it from ABNBCNNBS; that's the same conglomerate that lost us the war in Viet Nam. Yes, it's tough for the victims' families. But it's more important to stop it so there are no more victims' families out there than it is to coddle them. Coddling is far too much of our focus. It's time we grow up. Warm, fuzzy, and compassionate just won't cut it. Our enemy is vicious, implacable, with a VERY long range view of their goals. We're soft, fuzzy, and have trouble focusing on anything beyond sports, American Idol, and what's going on in our own little circle.

MG isn't the place for it, and I wasn't even tempted to post a link here. Nor do we need it splashed on the evening news for the very young to get traumatized, but it's important, and does need to be out there. And the evening news needs a hard kick in the pants. Currently they're fighting for the enemy. Again.

Hey GT. Wanna start up a news company with me? You are obviously adept at finding facts, so you could be the head editor of everything that is to be printed or televised. I can set up the computers and keep them running with the help of the networking guru's here at MG. Goldy and Wenchie could be our graphics people. Xflat could head the company keeping us in the running and dealing with lawyers. Abby could be the voice of reason. Endi could be the constant reminder of not only why, but who we are fighting. Any volunteers for camera operators / field reporters? This could actually work! :D:D:D I have one more suggestion: Put out some news that is good news as well as what is going on in the world. Let's not just focus on the bad like the other major news sources semm to do.

And on a side note, as usual, GT is 110% correct. We have lost our attention span due to the media's views being shoved down our throats in 30 to 60 second stories. There are extremists in every religion. It's just that the peace loving Muslims are being outnumbered by a bunch of Jihadist freaks of nature at an alarming rate.

I didn't post the link to the video out of respect to you folks. However, I think we should all watch it. Not for gore or morbid interest but to see what we are truely up against. For myself I do not believe those men died dishonorably!! They had their hands tied behind their back with no way to defend themselves. They have nothing to be sorry for!!

You know we can die crossing the street or laying in bed. They died because they stood for something. They didn't die for who they were they died because they stood as a symbol of freedom!! They represented everything those freaks hate!! Prosperity, free will, coherient thought, the right to worship whoever you choose, they died because they were the spawn of Freedom.

That is how I will remember them. For example, I Nick Burg would have died in a car crash no one would know who he is. But now we know, and we know how he sat there and took what they had to throw at him like a man!!!!

They can cut all of our heads off and they ain't stopping S##T and they ain't changing nothing!

What saddens me is there may become a time where the threat from a few may be so great that we can't afford to try to sort out who's our enemy. There may come a time where we say "I'm sorry we just can't take the risk... it's your culture or mine".

Love to. Unfortunatly, unless we can round up enough money actually buy one of the networks outright, nobody would ever see it. I don't think even xflat could round up that much money. If we did get it on the air, it would be demonized by every other network, and most of the sheeple would buy into that and discount most of what we had to say, as we'd be considered nothing but kooks. Everybody else CAN'T be wrong, can they? And every gripe group from the ACLU to CAIR to Operation Push would sue us into the next century. And very few companies would pay to advertise with us, both because of limited viewership and fear of being targeted as supporters of a bunch of kooks.

    Would be an impossible battle.

I'd like to think so, but history doesn't back that up. USA Today originally was formed around the concept of presenting positive news, and they didn't do very well with it. We DO need the positive in our lives, but as a group we just don't seem too interested in it. When it comes to news, blood, scandal, and titilation hold our interest far better than straight positive stories. Every single news department out there today are classified as "revenue generating" departments. If positive stories helped viewership/readership/revenues, we'd be inundated with positive stories just from the ratings battles. It doesn't happen.

I'd make it worth my while when they came around. I've been wanting to punch one of 'em for some time now ;) Maybe that would take their mind off of the frivilous suit and make 'em think twice about trying to serve us another one. :) I figured since they let Dr. Phil have his own show, we shouldn't have a problem getting one!

LOL. Dr. Phil's show doesn't conflict with their politcal agendas, and it fills that "warm fuzzy" niche in their programming.

And you wouldn't be much help to the fledgeling news company from behind bars, no matter how satisfying it might be. Might be a tactical victory, but would be a strategic defeat. ;)

I think Hollywood has their own agenda even if something makes money.

For example, Ben Hur made well over what it cost to make and set records.
Moses, made well over what it cost to make and set records. These were huge movie budgets for their time and they made millions. The Passion of Christ - set records.

Almost every Bible type movie they makes sells millions. Do they make them? NO..
Instead they spend millions and billions on movies like waterworld, or the worst movie I have ever seen Torque.

A long time ago in my business I found it isn't what I like that sells it is what the customer wants that sells. If I find somthing they will consistantly pay for I will consistantly sell it.

    Not so in Hollyworld ...

I wish that were so. Images are SO much more powerful than mere words, even if the words describe things accurately (and currently, generally, they don't). We were shown endless pitiful pictures the problems in Kuwait, and we went to war (Gulf War 1). We were NOT shown pictures of atrocities in Rawanda, and we stayed asleep and in denial while the slaughter went on. We were shown pictures of the starving masses in Somalia and we went in to help. We've NOT been shown pictures of atrocities in Sudan, and we'll most likely let a million people starve to death there this year. Ignorance is bliss. Pictures and movies aren't the only things in play in public opinion, but they're by far the most powerful tools out there. Currently, the only pictures you see on the news with any emotional content at all are either dead U.S. soldiers (VERY few, and very limited), sanitized "nice" pictures of captives, and pictures of dead innocent civilians. Very lopsided.

I remember exactly what happened. I was sitting in my second period Pre-Cal class, and some random kid stuck his head in the door and said "A plane just crashed into the World Trade Center...Everybody's watching it." My teacher, being the evil wench that she was, quickly ushered the kid out of HER classroom, and refused to turn the TV on because her lesson was more important.

Little did she know what would become of that morning...

I was still asleep when the first plane hit. I worked a later shift, and didn't get up that early. I got a call from a lady friend in Illinois that I used to work with (and still do email with) that somehow thought that I know everything, wanting to know my opinion on whether or not it was an accident. (News reports tried to hang on to "accident" at first.) I turned it on, and immediately told her that it was not an accident. A plane in distress wouldn't be right there under any conceivable conditions, and clear day/not on a normal flight path ruled out anything accidental. I got to see the second and third hits live, before going to work. And was amazed at how even after the SECOND plane hit, some jackass announcers still didn't totally eliminate "accident" from their comments. Denial runs deep, and announcers are hired for their ability to look smart and read teleprompters, not for having razor sharp brains.

I remember people jumping from upper floors rather than being burned alive. I remember the fear, the anger, the resolve, the unity, and the determination, much of which has faded into oblivion already.

I also remember sitting in front of the TV, watching the towers fall, and thinking of the FIRST attack on the Towers, and what it's INTENT had been (to topple one tower into the other, taking them both down, not just to blow up the parking garage), and thinking that they'd finally gotten their wish, and thinking that if we'd dealt with the entire problem back then, instead of simply scapegoating a few of the local perpetrators, the second attack would never have happened.

If apathy wins out again today, I wonder what lies we'll tell ourselves when the next big attack comes.

I think he was retired. He had two books. He said that this war is

This Islamic culture is NOT good. There, I said it. It has no redeeming value overall. I can't see it.

Also, when this government in Bagdad gets turned over, the Iraqi leaders might not quite have the need to "baby" the bad guys so much. Abu Gharaib was a joke. Panty hose? Please.

There is no way I could watch something like that, anyone that can do something like that is just a mean and sadistic person. They will always find some reason or cause, you have to kill them.
A friend of mine saw it, he said while they are standing there reading all that crap, the Korean is kneeling there and appears to be gasping for air, like he is hyper-ventilating or something. He spoke Arabic and surely knew his fate, what an awful, awful way to die. I have always heard that a victim in a "traditional beheading" is drugged and doesn't know what is going on, what a bunch of crap.
I hope we get serious about this, do what needs to be done or get out.
