Hi, anyone who has been reading the software threads recently will know that I have been having some temperature problems with my Sony Vaio FR315M Laptop. It was running at well over 70C most of the time until someone told me it wasn't software related and all i needed was a can of air to balst the crap off my fans.
This worked great, for about a day. The temps went down to the early 40's but they have been creeping up and i'm currently sat on 70C for the cpu and 43 for the hdd. according to Mobile Monitor.
However, the case of the machine does not feel nearly as hot as it used to, ie I can touch it now....
Can something have been buggered and is now giving false readings? like the temp sensors?
Or does anyhone know how to get a reliable temp reading (oh, just gone to 71C). My Bios doesnt show anything good like that....
Help! I dont want to blow this thing up!
    Thanks
    Wacky

Try the utility Everest available at MG here http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 then I would get an aftermarket cooling pad for your laptop, as overheating is a common problem for just about all makes, most folks here at MG have gotten one from Newegg, might give them a google. Hope that helps
