Earlier today, I realized what I might be doing wrong with my rendition of the Adaptive Huffman Codes compression technique: I might be updating the Huffman Code tree in the wrong direction on decompressing. :( I need to go back to wikipedia.com and peruse the documentation again. If I'm unsuccessful in finding the help I need there, I will return and ask for more.

I looked quickly, but the page didn't explain how to decompress using Adaptive Huffman codes. Where else can I find the information? BTW, I have a compression technique that uses a modified version of this technique, and it's doing way too good to be true on uncompressible files. I have a mental illness, and the diagnosis would leave room for delusions. Right now, I can't prove otherwise, as the technique is very buggy and not yet implemented or testable, and my PCs have viruses. For now, you can take it as a part of a mental illness, but I may ask for more information or advice later.

I thank you, but it seems to describe a static Huffman code. :(
