Think it would be a bad idea to use a can of compressed air on my Macbook screen to remove dust? I don't want to wipe it away as that normally causes scratches on sensitive items that still have dust.

My idea is to use a can of compressed air to get rid of the screen dust, than wipe the screen with some cleaner on a soft eyeglasses cloth. I'm just afraid the can of compressed air could damage the screen in anyway. Of course I'd never hold it in the same spot for too long, or tilt the can.

    Thanks

For cleaning the edges of the screen, I don't see a problem so long as you don't tilt the can.

A Q-tip can also be handy in removing built-up dust from screen edges.

As for the main part of the screen, I doubt air duster will be any more effective than either a soft cloth or static-type dusting rag such as Swiffer.
