bought a powork 600 watt PSU (yeah, I know, cmon) today. went to install it, everything seemed to be going well, then went to go for the first boot. At this point, hell became a stark reality. Would begin boot as usual, didnt hear any extravagent beeps or anything, recognizes video card b/c it shows the PNY boot up thing, THEN:eek: gives me "error: For Realtek RTL8139(X) PCI fast Ethernet controller" as well as "Check Cable/Media Failure", and "Exiting PXE", ect.. . I tried going into BIOS and changing boot order, but no HD detected. Im really in a bind with this if anyone could please help me.
    Thanks,
    Will

PS - One of the connectors from the PSU looks like the one commonly referred to as a floppy disk connector (kind of skinnier with less slots), but wont fit where the stock one was BUT appear to be identical. There is a little jumper (i believe im right with that) that is placed vertically on 2 pins over the letters CS (next to slave, master, and PNY2).
    im new, hehe, please help....:)

The four pin power supply's only go in one way ....they are the same for hard drive , cd drives and floppy drives .....do you have a 20 pin main or a 24 pin main ....if 24, did you plug in the "extra" 4 pin?

the new PSU has a 24pin , and fit fine (I think) but the old stock PSU has a 20pin

Then snap off the 4 pin set from the plug and don't use that for anything ....

Tim, thanks a lot for the help. I unplugged the extra four pin section from the mobo connection, but the computer still wont recognize my hard drive as being installed. I am gettin pretty worried at this point.

go through your motherboard manual (if you can) and double and triple check every cable connection (power, ide, etc.) and make sure all the cables are properly seated. you may have inadvertantly knocked loose one of the other cables that you didnt change.
