Thinkpad T30 HELP !!!!

Hey all !!!! I need some help with a IBM T30 Thinkpad that I was recently given. My problem is simply this, the LCD display light goes out every 1-2 min and I have to prs Fn then F7 three time to get the light back on, and when the light does come back on the program I am running is still there thankfully. My question is how do I get this light problem fixed???? I have tried to fix it through Power Management but can not fix the problem. I am not very computer literate, so if you have a solution....plz give good details lol.

 

Can you reproduce the symptom with the laptop power cord plugged in a wall outlet?

 

yes, the problem occurs if I have the AC plug in or if i'm on battery power. The closest I can figure is that either the LCD plugin is experiencing problems, or the inverter board for the LCD is faulty. Can anyone tell me where to get a new one if this is the problem???
