I just saw that Taylor Swift (who I LOVE!! No one even knows how much lol) is coming to do a concert near my house ANDDD it's the day before my birthday!!!!!!!! I so want to go but the tickets are expensive. I put up an offer on facebook if some of my friends wanted to send me early birthday presents so I could buy a ticket LOL (I did it rather facetiously, as I don’t really expect anyone to) but no offers yet :cry

I’m really bummed but also kind of entertained (I have no idea why lol).. maybe I am really losing it :-D

Maybe I need to find a rich old man and befriend him, hmmm? :p

I like her music also, dunno if I'd pay a fortune to go an see here just like I likely wouldnt go and see Micheal Buble also and his concerts I have seen on TV are awsome as my sister who has seen him live says are accurate.

Sadly I'm not that old ;) yet!

Hey wish you well in an early Birthday present from your friends, never know they may come through.

How much are they? I have no idea on what concerts cost like this artist for you folks in the USA, it will give me an idea to those prices here in UK.

    Nah...not worth it. LOL

Hell, sometimes I'm not sure the younger ones are. :-D

Good luck getting the ticket. Try ebay closer to the concert. You never know. I'm not sure how much in demand her tickets are, but I've gotten good last minute deals that way.

I just looked at tickets for Philly. OMG...they are expensive. $105! :eek

I don't know if you've been to a concert but I've never ever been to a concert and would really love to one, especially hers! besides.. you don't have to be THAT old ;)

Cheapest I saw was $85 for the cheap seats and 2K for the good ones... both of which are out of my price range.

Maybe you are right, boys are trouble anyways LOL

Thanks for the good luck wishes. I hope I get to go!

Yes many many concerts, have seen Paul McCartney, Bauhaus, Thompson Twins, Soft Cell, The Police, Extreme and many many others, those where just in my head at this moment, not been to one in last 5yrs though.

Tend to go and see comedians live more these days,

AH ok $85 is £53 when converted and thats sort of norm for UK and yes the tickets can goto the $2000 (£1,200) range here also, dont think I'd pay $2000 to see any musical artist at all, unless one of the greats like Pink Floyd etc the mondern artist are here today gone tomorrow, sort of quick buck.

Ooh, aren’t you lucky! I would love to go see a concert just once. If I don’t make it to this one, I’m sure there is one in my future I’ll get to see.

As for the prices, they probably are average but out of my price range ATM. If I had the money, I absolutely wouldn’t hesitate. Which brings me back to my rich old man scenario..hmmm…LOL

Hi Diamond, yes I totally understand while the prices I mentioned maybe average for me in UK, it still depends on you having the funds to actually devote to spending on a concert, I know I weigh up the cost vs what I need.

Whre I live we have many many concert halls and venues for artists so its a vast choice normally and prices are kept low for many, all but the likes of Taylor Swift, Micheal Buble etc which are the exceptions.

Within 2hrs ish I could be in London and the massive array of shows and concerts there, such is the benefit of living in a small country compaired to the USA, where it may take hours and great cost to travel to concerts in other states and cities.

When I saw this thread I thought someone needed treatment for serious desease, after reading I realised it was true:( Dyamond needs a huge dose of Taylor swift.

I wish I could send you some Taylor Swift, but cloning Taylor Swift from live embryo's is still illegal over here.

Dyamond you have my prayers. :-D

Do you have something against my shoes? you are always telling me to sell some. LOL

Thanks Rikky, I am in a desperate need for treatment :(

...Now where is that Tim with my funds :-D

I hope that you either manage to find the funds or find a rich benefactor, or both, Dy;).
I am old(ish), I aint rich but I have a few $$$ to my name. Unfortunately, those around me tend to drain my wallet as fast as it fills:(. My friend often tries to grab my wallet when I pull it out, LoL. Little does she know it's mainly thick because it's full of phone numbers and business cards, eh.roflmao

Been to many a concert, but not in recent years. Taylor Swift, aye? Yup - you definitely should save up for treatment for that one!LOL

    (P.S. Or find a cheap Therapist. .:p)

I was afraid to mention selling shoes.

There is an old Klingon proverb that states 'only a fool fights in a burning house' . . . but few know it goes on to say that 'only a bigger fool gets between dyamond and footwear!' :eek

Good luck in your endeaver, miss Dy - I'll send some positive monetary-based mental waves in your general direction . . . :)

Last concert I went to was so long ago I hate to even think about it - it was Ted Nugent . . . the title song was "Cat Scratch Fever." Two not so well known bands opened for him; "Scorpians" and some band called "AC/DC" (whatever became of them, I wonder? :confused)

    :-D

Last July, I went to Festival D'ete De Quebec in Quebec City, and it was INCREDIBLE! There were 11 days worth of bands performing on 5 stages throughout the city.

There were some huge names performing:

    Bedouin Soundclash
    Dream Theater
    Iron Maiden
    Roger Hodgson of Supertramp
    The Arcade Fire
    Santana
    RUSH
    The Black Eyed Peas
    Social Distortion
    BILLY TALENT
    Apocalyptica
    Rammstein

And countless other performers. I will probably go again this year!

Nah, this was probably not her scene. Most of these bands would eat Taylor Swift alive. :-D

Why does everyone laugh at my misfortune :cry

  26. handygal

    handygal First Sergeant

HA! My son (8) just blew out another speaker in my car when he cranked up some AC/DC and I was just saying today that he's moved on to Scorpions now. What am I doing to that kid?

I have to laugh because the last concert I saw was The Wiggles (going to have to google it because no one here will know them, except maybe an aussie) and I'm buying tickets for RUSH and Andrea Bocelli playing 10 days apart. No one ever said my taste in music makes sense.

dyamond - I've laughed so hard at the thread, you attracted the fun-crazies here. Good luck with your quest. When is the concert?

Last concert I went to was with my hubby and our two girls when we took them to see Nickelback. Silly me thought it would be appropriate for them. They thought it was great! My youngest (10 or 11 at the time) was asking me why the girls were throwing bras up on stage. LOL

I've been to a ton though. Some really good ones. Someone mentioned Pink Floyd. I even went to one of those about 15 years ago. I also saw the last Dead concert they played in Philly before Jerry Garcia died.

Maybe you won't get to this one, dy, but start a fund. Put $5 a week in a jar and you'll have money saved up in no time for the next one. It's worth experiencing.

Fannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnntastic (oh you have a sticky keyboard like me ;) )

Nah great news and you have fun as live concerts are superb, the atmosphere is to be savoured no matter who the artist, some are better then others but being live woooow is awsome, one of the best gigs I went too was when Paul McCartney and Wings where still going (listening to 3000+ folk sing "Back in the USSR" outdoors is mind blowing), Linda was also alive and in the band, the gig was awsome, sadly one of Mr McCartney's last good gigs, and I have met him a few times and he is not all he portrays as in fan oriented.
