This on has me Stumped

Ran spybot & adaware on my wife's computer (Windows 2000 & Office 2003.

After running - Task Bar icons, and Excel were GONE & my Documents files were also gone?!

Been trying everything I know to recover; but to no avail.

Please Help.

Have you tried the recovery tab in spybot?

 

Yup! It restored some files that SHOULD have been deleted.

 

has she ever backed up her computer in windows 2000>? if so she can restore it to that time and point

 

That didn't work either?!

 

Still looking for suggestions.

 

might be a stupid question but has ALL your taskbar icons gone (from start to clock) ?

has the 'my documents' folder gone from the user profile or is it just the one on the desktop ?

is excel still in program files ?

has it logged onto the correct profile ?

if you click start (if its there) > run and type gpedit.msc > enter, the group policy will open, you can check your settings there
