This Problem Is New To Me, Sorry If It Is The Wrong Area.

My wife's computer now boots up and as it always had before BUT when an desktop icon is hit to open. The indicator just spins and nothing happens. I replaced the batteries in the mouse, pulled the back up H/D and did very little because of the no action to anything. I'm sitting like a deer in the headlights. It seems or appears something is puked. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I can on a few, but the Malware and the Antivirus icons just sits there and spins. Then after 4 - 5 min the properties open. Individually.

 

Fixed....ended up deleting Malware Bytes, swapping out CD/DVD unit. Making a bookable disc to check and repair items in the Boot Sector. Got it from Easy Recovery Essentials.
