This was weird..Video card

the other day I was playing Pandora Tomorrow and then bang, I have no video. So I restart ny system and still no video, Sooooooo I decide to take off the side cover and what do I see?
A capasitor laying on my firewire card; man this realy sucks I just bought the card (GE Force FX 5900) a little over 30 days ago. Upon futher inspection it looks like the caps are not soldered directly to the card but glued to it. Well i hope I can get to best Buy after class /before work today and I hope they will swap this defected card out.

Has anyone else seen this problem before with this card?

no, I have seen it with an old 3DFX V5 5500 though.

Whoa that really sucks. Gluing components onto cards is such a cop out. Maybe you got an eary revision of the card with a "quick fix" in it. Good luck with it

 

Well I was suprised buy the help at Best Buy today, They gave me 0 (zero) problems about swapping the Video card. In fact I was even able to up grade to the FX 5900 for $10.00 more; they bent over backwards to help me get a video card. I just hope this one can hold up to the abuse I have put my GE force MX400 through the past four years. Well i AM CURIOUS IF THIS CARD WILL SHED ALSO.....
