Thorpe Park - you have to go!!!

Well, I've just spent the day at Thorpe Park, and I have to say it's one amazing place!
Definitely THE theme park to go to, has amazing rides such as Collosus and Nemesis Inferno!

Just go!!!!!

 

I've been numerous times and got the family a year season ticket. I've also been on the two rides you've mentioned. Did you go on the large water ride that drenches you on the way down? Did you get your mugshot on a keyring or whatever? By the way, the year season ticket allows us to visit any of the Tussaud's group of attractions including Alton Towers (been twice), Chessington (once), Tussaud's Waxworks, London Planetarium and Warwick Castle.

Ah, you're on about Tidal Wave! Yeh got absolutely drenched on that, came off soaked!!!! We then went on Nemesis to dry off afterwards!
I might look into the year pass, £80 hmmm....

 

Aaaaaaaaaaah scary rides! I last went last year, been loads of times, which is pretty stupid as I hate scary rides... I love love love water .. water thingies.. bombs.. rapids.. homes.. rides.. big things u zoom down.. chutes.. dammit! Blank mind..
Thunder River or something.. Basically I love them.. tidal wave did look a little daunting however.. standing at the bottom got the same see-through tshirt effect as the ride itself.. so i swiftly moved on.

@mcadam ....If you liked Thorpe you'd love Alton Towers, mcadam.

@Maxwell......Warwick Castle is the dog's wotsits! I used to live there...well...not in the castle, you understand, but in Warwick Try also Chepstow Castle next time you venture across the bridge

@pdcooper...you would love the UK...you'd just hate the lousy weather

 

you lived up north, you don't get to complain about the weather. It's like polar bears compliaining about the snow, it just happens (seriously, I went to look round Warwick Uni on saturday, it was sweatshirt weather. When I got home, I was informed that it had been boiling all day round where I live!)

TP is pretty damn cool though

 

LOL..Warwick isn't north!!! Most of my family come from Yorkshire, but I lived in Gloucestershire and south most of my life.

What did you think to the Uni? I saw Motorhead and Hawkwind there, but went to Coventry Poly myself.....don't go there...trust me

It can't be worse than Alaska. I also live in Juneau lots of rain. I can't complain about UK weather then.

 

No Lev, Thorpe Park is now better than Alton Towers
It's had many new rides over the past few years that make it better, including Collosus which is the world's first 10 loop coaster and Nemesis Inferno which is better than the original Nemesis.
I went to Alton Towers last year, TP is so much better!!!!

 

Man, Brits have all the fun. The only theme park anywhere near me is LAME and expensive in order to perpetrate it's LAMEness on you.

That, and take a baby anywhere alone and expect to have fun? Bleah.. but that was MY fault.

 

For just scenic themes I have to recomend Niagara Falls . . . it looks best from the Canadian side, but if you want pristine visit the park on the United States side.

 

*likes Alton Towers and Thorpe Park*. Not been to Thorpe park in ages though, I keep meaning to go. That season ticket sounds awesome, maybe I'll have to get one for next summer.

Tell you what is a larfe, going on a school outing to a theme park! Well, depends who you end up teaming up with, if you get a scardey cat like I did you end up riding the corkscrew 20 million times. Ah well.

Twas excellent (Need 2A's and a B to study there though) And I wouldnt recommend doing geography there - they call it Warwick Uni but it's next to coventry?? Wtf?

And Lev, Warwick is north for me =p

Its best if you go to the parks on something like a thursday while schools are still going on, because theres usually noone there

They call it Warwick University because it is just outside Warwick. Coventry has it's own University, which used to be Coventry (Lanchester) Polytechnic until they all got that auto-upgrade to university status, regardless of whether they were good enough or not. Hmphhh....

 

There's a new one being built for 2006 though...
