it is said there is strength in numbers and so I am hoping a few of you will read this and have some thoughts and prayers on Friday for my daughter and her surgeon.
My daughter is 19 years old and will be having surgery on Friday to remove two cysts from her ovary. Within the last week, they have grown from 7-10 cm. to now being the size of a volleyball.
They are going to try laporoscopic surgery to drain and remove it that way, and she will be released the same day.
If there is any sign of cancer, they will have to do a bigger incision and remove the cyst, ovary and possibly tube. She would be in the hospital for a few days.
I am hoping they just need to drain it and remove it the easiest way and we can bring her home on Friday.
So, some thoughts and prayers for her and the surgeon would be deeply appreciated.
    Thaks

My thoughts are with you and your daughter, any parent who has had to have their child operated on knows what you are going through. All the best Gal1998, and let us know how it goes

    Hi Gal1998,
It was about three months ago i received a call from my ex wife that my daughter was also to have this same surgery a cyst 10 cm. When i saw how big it was my heart dropped. I know the feeling or dispare and worry a parent feels at a time like this and would like to let you know that faith and prayers work miracles. The Medical field has come a long way and this surgery is not as scary as it sounds. My daughter came out fine and proceeded to want to be more spoiled than ever. (Which i am know in the process of doing.) All our best wishes and prayers to you and your daughter on Friday.

An update. Surgery went very well. They could drain the cysts and took it out thru laporascopy surgery. They did have to remove her ovary as the cysts were twisted around it. We have her home now and she is resting. Was a long day.
Take care everyone and thanks again for the kind words.

Hey great news gal1998, shame about the ovaries considering her age, but much better than some other things. Take care and give her a Geek hug from your Canadian Cousin.

They only removed the one ovary. The other is healthy.
At her dr, appt. last week, she asked if she could still have children if they had to remove the one. I knew the answer, but wanted to hear what the dr. told her.
His words were "Yes, you can. That is why God gave you two."
She needed to hear it from him. I had told her, but think it meant more coming from the dr.

Thank you and, yes, I will give her a big extra hug when I check on her next.

I did not see this until today. So glad to hear your daughter came through the surgery okay. Hope you are both feeling better. I myself am the outcome of an ovary removal surgery, so yep very possible.

Thank you Jack. It is amazing how fast young people recover. She was out fishing this morning with my husband, and hardly has any pain at all. She is doing very well.

    Thanks again to everyone.
