Throw me some ideas! VB .NET

For our final in my VB .NET class we have to come up with a fully working game. I thought it would be a good idea to start now, so i have plenty of time to make changes, and have the coolest game in the class!

I need some ideas for a cool game, that you wouldnt mind playing. I want it to be moderatly simple, i dont want to get into physics formulas or anything. I just need an idea for now. I will have all school year to work on it, so as i learn more i can go more in depth with the game. I have taken VB 6.0 so i do have some previous knolage in this area.

A buddy of mine is doing Mario. Another is doing sonic. I want something that is going to be unique.

Please offer any ideas, advice, or warnings you may have. I am open to everything!

are you using directx? Mario and Sonic seem complicated lol.

hmm create a game huh...


an action fighter would be good, like a 2d mortal combat type thing. Lot of people like those.

Ohh what would be cool is a game like where badies pop up outta corners and you have a cursor and you move the mouse to shoot them.

 

Sorry no directX. Wish we could use it.

An acton fighter game sounds really cool. I will have to look into it, and see how involved it is going to be.
