    Hello -

Having a problem with an new Memorex Traveldrive USB 2.0, 512 MB "thumb drive". After getting it, I copied a couple hundred JPG pictures onto it. Memory status:

Used 216.8 MB, Free 298.9 MB

Has one folder "covdata" containing a single file "sigfile.sig" 1 kb size. Don't recall creating this folder or file. Here's the problem:

    1. Can delete or move/copy files from main Memorex drive to other folders on PC. And can copy same file back to main Memorex drive (i.e., normal operation).

    2. Cannot copy a new file to main Memorex drive (nor create any new folder) - when attempt, get following message:

CIRCLE RED X "Cannot copy __filename__: The directory cannot be created"

    3. CAN copy files to the covdata folder, and can create new folder within covdata folder.

There must be some settings related to the thumb drive that need to be changed to allow copying to the root thumb drive, but I cannot find anything in the "Properties" functions. Could this be related to the Covdata folder or Sigfile.sig file? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Geolbob

Have you tried reformating the whole drive?
