I have 3 computers running Thunderbird now. All use Windows 10 as the operating system.

On two computers, Thunderbird is running fine.

On the third computer, a spare, but with the same power as another computer, I am getting an error message when I open Thunderbird, and am unable to download any messages on the 3 Gmail accounts that I have on there. The downloaded messages ended in 2022, and I use this computer as a spare computer. Other accounts from other ISP providers work fine.

The error message is as follows:

"Non-overridable TLS error occurred handshake or probably the TLS version or probably the TLS version or certificate used by service imap.gmail.com is incompatible."

I've tried various solutions suggested on the internet, and none have worked. My settings are the same on all three computers, and this is the only one that isn't downloading properly.

If anyone has any suggested fixes, please let me know.

    Settings are as follows:

Note - I found that if I disable the Mail Shield on Avast Free, the emails can be received. This is not necessary on my other 2 computers. This is a workaround, but not a preferred one.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

To me, the word "probably" in your error message means that the writer has not the foggiest idea what's going on.

Since June 18, I have a problem like yours except I cannot send a new email or forward or reply to a received email. I'm still working on it and am surprised that I appear to be the only one out of the thousands that use TB that has this problem. The problem appears on two separate computers, both of which use Windows 10 and TB 114.0.2. One is for me and the other is for the wifey.

Sorry I can't help you - I'm just co-miserating with you... and am still working on a fix.

Well, I seemed to have fixed my "cannot send" problem. I don't know why the problem occurred in the first place, and when I checked to see what my outgoing sender settings were on each computer after fixing the problem, I found that they were exactly the same as they were before the problem occurred.

    On both computers!
